Job often dictates hairstyle options

When Kristie VerMulm fixes her hair every morning, she knows she's not the only person who will care how it looks.She's a news anchor for KTIV News Channel 4, and having nice hair is part of the job. Just like the celebrities, she has to make sure her look works for both her public and her private life.So if she wants to change her hairstyle, she can't just go do it. She needs to check with her boss first."You need hair that looks nice on TV, fits for what you do, but at the same time, it has to be real," she said. "I'm a mom with a couple kids, and so I can't have hair that's going to take me nine hours to do because that's not real."She also has to consider how her hair will look from different camera angles."In the 'Live at Five' show, I turn to a monitor to talk to Matt or Ron," she said.
